This year we will be transitioning to brand new sixth grade state standards! Our focus will follow a 3-Dimensional way of learning! Students will build a cohesive understanding of science and engineering that cover cross-cutting concepts, practices in science and engineering, and disciplinary core ideas.
Our 6th grade science units are as follows: The Solar System, Sun-Earth-Moon System, Matter and Energy, Climate, Ecosystems, Microorganisms, Heat, Light, and Sound.
Additional units include Oceans, Circulatory System, Genetics, and Plate Tectonics.

DUE BEFORE FALL BREAK!
SUN, EARTH, AND MOON SYSTEMS EXTRA CREDIT:
I have attached 4 passages and three internet sites you may use to create a poster(s) about the Sun, Earth, and Moon systems we have studied in science. The poster(s) can be completed on a Google Doc and shared with me or a poster that can be hung up on the wall. There is not a requirement on the size of the poster.
Each poster should include only the information about one of the four subject areas. Please do not create one poster with all four subject areas!
Requirements:
Each poster will be worth 10% extra credit toward your science test. You may complete more than one poster if you choose.
The posters will be used later in the year as review and to create review games for the entire sixth grade class. Please take the time to do your best work!
